Interior & lower exterior

Window Washing

Clean glass is the cheapest way a building looks looked after. Dirty glass at the entrance undoes a lot of other work.

G & J's handles storefronts, entryways, interior partitions and lower exterior windows. We no longer take on structural high rise work, so if your building needs rope access or a suspended platform we will tell you straight away rather than waste your time.

What the Job Actually Involves

  • Storefront and entryway glass

The glass your customers actually walk through, inside and out, including frames and tracks.

  • Interior glass and partitions

Office partitions, internal doors, clerestory glass and anything reachable from the floor or a platform.

  • Lower exterior windows

Ground and lower level exterior glass, reached safely with poles and ladders rather than lift equipment.

  • Frames, sills and tracks

The parts that make clean glass look dirty again within a week if they get skipped.

How We Run It

  1. Check access honestly

If a window needs equipment or a discipline we do not offer, we say so up front. That is a better outcome for both of us.

  2. Detail the frames first

Tracks and sills cleaned before the glass, so grit does not get dragged back across a finished pane.

  3. Wash and squeegee

Worked pane by pane rather than sprayed and wiped, which is what leaves the streaks people complain about.

  4. Final walk

Checked from inside and out in daylight, because that is when the misses show.

Questions We Get Asked

Do you do high rise window cleaning?
No. We stopped taking structural high rise work. Window washing with us means interior, storefront and lower exterior glass.
How often should storefront glass be done?
For a busy entrance, weekly or every other week. It is a small line item that has an outsized effect on how the building reads.
Do you clean residential windows?
Yes, as part of our selective residential work alongside gutter cleaning.
